The Well

Life can be like a well. The well is a metaphor for providing nourishment- both physically and spiritually - for all beings. We can reach deep when we need something to nourish or inspire us or we can be ok with just living our life at the surface. We need to be like the well: refreshing, enriching, and reliable. What if it was like a magic well that could keep filling back up the minute we draw from it? What if we could give from our whole heart not worrying about filling our coffers back up? Dedicating ourselves to the greater good by giving freely of ourselves is really the way to go. When we do it because that is a natural thing to do, we all get rewarded.

When we allow for the flow, miracles happen. Ask yourself, how do you nourish yourself?  We need to go to the well daily for ourselves before we need it. Often, we sacrifice self-care because we are too busy trying to save everyone. We don't always know what others need because we really don't listen and we jump to conclusions thinking we know best. Everyone's well may look a little bit different because we are all different, and our needs are all different. I think we need to stop trying to rescue others based on how we would like to be rescued. The well can take us into self-discovery, and our inner resources that we may have not known were there. It lets us explore our passions and strengths that could lead us to a more authentic life. Exploration can help unlock untapped potential due to fear or self-doubt. Pushing these boundaries can lead to personal growth, and lead to passions we never knew we had.

The journey can lead us to deep discoveries, and if we pay attention to where we are being guided to gravitate to, the inner well can be exactly the trip we need to journey to.
